About DVDAnswers.com

  Printable Version
DVDAnswers.com started off as the ever-so-slightly gender-biased DVDBlokes.com way back in January 2001. The site came about as the result of two individuals need for a regularly updated DVD site. Despite the high standards of competition, we felt that there was something missing from most sites - fun! In our experience DVD site's seemed to be either incredibly boring to read, or contained little information of any use! For these reasons, and after a number of lengthy discussions, DVDBlokes was born. The rest, as they say, is history! After months of preparation and construction, DVDBlokes finally opened its doors to the public on the 1st July 2001 with the aim of providing a fun environment for all things DVD!

A lot has happened since then, and the site has grown in terms of both visitors and content. The site has been featured in a number of publications including .net magazine as one of the top 10 film sites. Now boasting a huge database of reviews, easter eggs and much more, DVDBlokes.com prospered more than we could have possibly imagined. In light of our newfound popularity we decided that we should try to reach a wider audience, something that the old name made very difficult! It was for this reason that, as of July 1st 2002, the site was re-launched as DVDAnswers.com.

Two people - Malcolm Campbell and Tom Woodward, are primarily responsible for maintaining DVDAnswers.com. Malcolm is responsible for coding the site (and keeping it fairly respectable). Tom is in charge of content, keeping all the reviewers under control, and generally pestering Malcolm for new features and added funcionality!

Backing up Tom and Malcolm is the large international reviewing team who have, over a number of months, provided DVDAnswers with a wealth of brand new, original content. DVDAnswers currently has reviewers based in America, Australia and Europe, ensuring that you get quality reviews from all over world.

DVDAnswers continues to undergo changes to design and functionality in order that we may continue to bring you the very best in news, reviews and features. Over the coming months, the site will continue continues to grow as we strive to make DVDAnswwers the ultimate DVD website!
