Fans of the BBC comedy The Office will be pleased to know that the full specs for the two-disc set has now arrived! The Office was unquetionably THE comedy success of 2001 and is destined for even greater things this year. The ultimate spoof fly-on-the-wall documentary, it depicts real office life as we know it: underpaid, dead-end jobs; irritating colleagues; and a smug; sexist bos with a penchant for moon-walking! Here are the specs for the DVD:

  • Six half-hour episodes observing the dull reality of spending eight hours a day, five days a week with people you would normally go to great lengths to avoid
  • 40-minute documentary 'How I Made the Office by Ricky Gervais'. Specially produced with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and key cast members, it discusses how the series was conceived and includes personally memorable sequences, out-takes, footage and commentary of pre-pilot and pilot episodes
  • Full-length Peter Pervis Staff-Training Video as featured in Episode Four

You should expect The Office to be presented in 4:3, we don't know about the soundtrack at this stage. You should expect to see this classic piece of TV on DVD from the 14th October this year. Retail for the series will be 19.99. The second season of the show will be arriving on TV this coming autumn.

Just in from Buena Vista is the announcement of The Others starring Nicole Kidman, Fionnula Flanagan, Alakina Mann, James Bentley, Christopher Eccleston and Eric Sykes. Here's what you can expect from this spooky DVD release:

  • Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer
  • Audio commentary with Director Alejandro Amenbar
  • 'Inside The Others' Featurette
  • Visual Effects Featurette
  • Director's interview
  • Special feature on Xeroderma Pigmentosum

I'm afraid we don't have details on the exact aspect ratio of the film though other releases have featured a 1.85:1 presentation. A 5.1 track is also likely. You can expect this release of The Others to mysteriously appear onto shop shelves from the 23rd September.
